Beatrice
Staring at the stick in my trembling hand, I feel paralyzed. It must be mistaken; Brent and I used protection. How could I have been so foolish? I try to place the stick on the side of the sink, but it drops onto the floor and clangs as it does. My heart races in my ribcage as I rush into my bedroom. “My cell phone; where is the darned thing?” I whisper.
I scatter clothes across the bedroom floor, including those on my king-sized bed. Where is that blooming cell phone? Diving under the disheveled blankets, I hurl them off the bed, lifting the fluffy cushions and tossing them aside too. A groan of relief escapes my mouth when I discover my phone in the center of the bed. Thank you, God! I have no idea how it got there.
Grabbing it and crouching against the velvet headboard, I punched in my best friend’s number. It is five o’clock in the morning in New York City, but she is still the only person whom I can talk to about this right now. I listen to its buzzing tone, as it then goes to voicemail. “Bloody hell!” Hanging up my cell phone with a sigh of exasperation, I toss it aside, murmuring, “It’s too bloody early; I need to take another test.”
Suddenly, I jumped, hearing the vibrating cell phone. My heart speeds up; she is ringing back. My hand trembles as I reach for the ringing cell phone, then I hesitate. “Drat, I should wait. I need to think this through. The test could be wrong. No sense in worrying her—I might not be pregnant.”
Mikos
I cannot believe what I’m seeing right now. The gorgeous babe who I hit on last night is sitting in my brother’s family room. She looks just as stunned to see me too.
“You two know one another?” Adriana’s head sways back and forth between us. “What’s going on here, Mikos? How do you know my cousin Daisy?”
“You’re Adriana’s cousin?” I ask, feeling blown away. “Oh my God. I am so sorry about last night. What are the odds?”
“I went to Club Eklypse last night with Leticia and her coworkers,” Daisy, the woman of my dreams, tells Adriana. “I met him there. Who are you, exactly?”
“He’s my brother-in-law,” Adriana responds, looking at me cross-eyed. I know that look; I will be getting an earful from my sister-in-law later. “Eklypse is our club.”
“Oh.” Daisy licks her luscious lips as she takes a peek over at me. “That explains it.”
Calm the fuck down, Mikos. She’s freaking family, not blood, but close enough. Damn, what the fuck is wrong with me? Adriana’s cousin is a fucking bombshell. I am shocked we never met, but she has an accent and doesn’t sound like she lives in New York.
Franco
“That would be me Yankee?” The sexiest southern twang chimed in from behind me. I glanced over my shoulder, and my mouth gaped. Holy shit! What a knockout? She had long brown hair with blondish highlights and wide amber eyes. Her skin looked like it was dipped in caramel butter. Lips were luscious and red like sweet raspberry. Whoa. My heart thumped hard and breath caught in my throat. She was smoking hot in a tight black dress with a plunging neckline. It showed off her curvaceous boobs. She had on the tallest black heels I’d ever seen. The girl left me dumbstruck. I heard Nat and Janique giggling from my dumbstruck expression.
“O. M. G Franco, you can close your mouth now.” Nat chuckled. “Didn’t I tell you that Janique? He’s acting like a fool. Franco meet Dallas. She’s Janique’s cousin, and we’re here with her.”
She sauntered over and extended her hand. I took it, and a jolt of electricity went up my arm. She pulled her hand away quickly. “Howdy,” she said in that fabulous accent. “What a pleasant surprise. The girls are here with me in the VIP section. I’m taking good care of them, so there’s no need to worry.”
Being in her presence was driving me insane. “So, Dallas is your name, as in the Dallas Cowboys?” My cheeks flushed from the stupid remark. Damn.
“That’s right suga.” Dallas drawled in that sexy ass twang. Her voice gave me an instant hard on. “My daddy named me after his favorite football team. You got it right Yankee. Do you want to join us in the VIP section?”

Perhaps you need a reminder: A look at Beatrice in No Ordinary Girl.
Her hazel eyes dance with mischief, and her smooth caramel latte skin glows with happiness. I watch her bite her pouty lips as she glides into the living room. Bea was born in the States like me but moved to England with her folks when she was nine years old. She’s maybe an inch shorter than me, but we’re about the same body type. “Finished early and hated the thought of being stuck in the woods. I can’t bear to be away from London. Besides, you’re here. Hated leaving ya.”
Warm emotions flood me. I love being around her. She brightens my day with her zest for life. We always have an amazing time when we’re together. “Aww… you’re great, Bea.” I reach in for a tight squeeze. “You always know how to cheer a girl up.”
I'm a huge fan of romance and when I wrote the first book, No Ordinary Girl, it was about Daisy's story. It was clear that her best friend, Beatrice had a story to tell. I briefly introduced you to Beatrice in No Ordinary Girl, yet she had a huge effect. I love to craft stories that have strong female protagonists. You'll find out about that in this story. Beatrice is strong-willed and independent.

Another good read by this author! Although some of the reading made me blushed again, I liked how the characters are evolving. Glad Mikos found his Daisy!
